If you read the “About the Author” page, you may be wondering what the original Olivion looked like. I mean, he was in 3rd Grade when he wrote it! Well, guess what? It’s here!

 

You will see some familiar characters with different names and some completely new characters. You’ll see some similarities in the story, but a lot has changed. That’s what happens when you grow, learn, and mature.

 

I’ve got to say, it was fun digging out and reading the original Olivion. I literally cackled when I read the fight song he wrote back then. It brought back memories of him saying that he absolutely had to have a fight song because the best movies and cartoons had them. Since he was certain that a big studio would want to turn his book into a cartoon, he was determined to make sure that the fight song was done right. It also brought back memories of him pulling out his cardboard/foil sword and shield so that he could properly act out the scenes and make sure that it was “right.”

 

Whether you’re a big kid or a little kid, I hope you can find some joy in the original.

Olivion (The Original)

 

A long time ago, there was a kid named Katronis. He was a cool kid. He was the first one from Earth to go to Olivion. Olivion is a magical world that is hard to get out of because the only way in is through the magical portal of Kalawndo. You don’t believe me? You should because I’m Katronis. Well, here’s the story of how I got to Olivion.

 

Chapter 1 - I was on my way to school when a big blue portal opened up in front of me. A voice from in the portal said, “We need help. A big black, purple and green dragon known as the Evil Dragon has taken over our Kingdom. We need you to defeat him, Katronis.” “You need me to help you?!” I screamed. “I need to get to school or I’ll get a Z minus!” “I need you now KJ,” said the voice. “Hey! How do you know my nickname?” “I know everything about you because I watched you since you were a baby. Anyways… get in the portal now or I’ll tell your teachers that you quit school because it’s not cool enough!” screamed the voice. “Okay, okay, I’ll go through the portal…. But can I be called Agent K?” “No,” said the voice. “Fine,” and I went through the portal.

 

Chapter 2 - “Whoa!” I said as I walked through the blue portal. “So, when am I going to get there?” I asked. “Right now,” said the voice. “Whoa!” I screamed as I almost fell off a mountain! “Welcome to the Mountains of Zen,” said the voice. “You need to find a magical wand. Go to the Magical Plains and find one quickly!” “Okay!” I said. “So how far is this?” “Let’s get ‘em boys!” yelled a mysterious voice. Suddenly, trolls surrounded me from every direction. “I am Zon!” said the leader of the trolls. “I’m going to destroy you!” said Zon.

 

Chapter 3 - “Not if I can stop you!” yelled a voice. Suddenly, a boy jumped off a huge cliff and knocked the trolls off their feet. “Hi, I’m Super Maze,” said the boy as we shook hands. “I’m Katronis,” I said shocked. “I’m learning to be a hero!” screamed Super Maze. “Cool!” I yelled. “Do you want to come with me and stop the Evil Dragon? You may become a hero if you help me!” I said. “Sure!” he said and we were gone.

 

Chapter 4 - “So where are we now?” I asked. “You are in the Zen Mountains!” said the portal voice. “Are there going to be any more magical creatures?” asked Super Maze. “Only a pack of goblins,” said the portal voice. “Let’s trap them guys!” said another mysterious voice. Then, ten goblins jumped out of hiding with swords and spears! “I am Zen, Zon’s brother,” cackled the leader. Suddenly, my eyes glowed gold and did magical natural disasters! “Aaaaaaaah!” screamed Zen and the goblins as they were blown away by a tornado. “Whoa!” wondered Super Maze out loud. “I know!” I screamed happily. “I have magic!” “Powerful magic,” said Super Maze. “I have fire and ice blasts, but whoa…” said Super Maze shocked. “On to the Valley of Sen,” I said. “How did you know that?” asked Super Maze. “I don’t know but come on!”

 

Chapter 5 - “So let me guess, there’s going to be thousands of trolls with swords and spears that are very sharp,” I said. “Yes, but watch out for a troll army,” said the portal voice cautiously. “I’m very glad that the trolls aren’t jumping at us right now,” said Super Maze while stretching his muscles. “I’m glad too, but can you show yourself?” I asked. “Okay,” said the voice. Next thing we knew, a wizard appeared. The wizard’s outfit was purple and had moons and stars on his coat and a sun on his hat! “I am Cyberon the wizard,” he screamed. “Do you have a staff and spell book?” I asked. “Indeed, I do,” said Cyberon. Then, a staff and spell book appeared in Cyberon’s hands! “Ha ha ha!” cackled a familiar voice. “It is I, Zon. Well, you already know that, but….. attack trolls!” “Not if I attack them first,” said another familiar voice. “I’m Zen. You know me. Attack!!!”

 

Chapter 6 - “Let’s get out of here!” said Super Maze. “Agreed,” said Katronis. “Let’s head this way!” “Get them, trolls!” said Zen and Zon. “Jinx! You have to get them,” said Zen. “Okay, but they’re headed for the wand!” said Zon. Then the two trolls told their minions to divert to the Hot Peninsula.

 

Chapter 7 - “Why is it so hot in the Magical Plains?” asked Super Maze. “The only place this hot is the Hot Peninsula!” said Cyberon realizing they went in the wrong direction. “We must have made a wrong turn or something like that,” I said, realizing too. “I’m guessing the trolls must have figured out we needed a magical wand!” exclaimed Super Maze. “Wait, there is another powerful staff on the Hill of Power,” said Cyberon. “Hold on a sec here. How do you know that there’s a magical staff at the Hill of Power? Only the king, super heroes, and the Shadow Master know,” Super Maze said quietly. “Looks like my secret’s out!” Said Cyberon in a different voice. Ka-bam! Cyberon smashed a potion. Suddenly, a shadow came out in Cyberon’s place. “Shadow Master!” screamed Super Maze. “How did you escape the World of Monsters?!” “Well, it’s pretty easy to get free when you’re half ghost, half spirit, half soul, and half shadow,” said Shadow Master smirking. “Dad, can I trap them now?” said an unfamiliar voice. “Sure, son,” said Shadow Master. Suddenly, arms grabbed us!

 

Chapter 8 - “The sole reason that I let my son, Shadow, capture you was because I wanted to send you to the World of Monsters with my powers!” said Shadow Master. “Why don’t you just free all the monsters?” suggested Super Maze. “What are you doing?!” I whispered. “He likes to bring along his captives to his evil plan. I have fire and ice breath so we could break free and kick these shadows back to the World of Monsters,” whispered Super Maze back to me. “Dad, I think his ideas better than yours,” said Shadow. “I’ll teleport us in a millisecond,” mumbled Shadow Master and he did it in a millisecond. “Welcome to the Island of Doom, boys,” said Shadow. Wham! Two figures kicked Shadow Master in the back! “Fire Boy, Ice Girl!” yelled Super Maze. “How do you know them?!” I asked. “We’re the Super Four, but we could need a fifth super buddy,” said Super Maze. “You could show us that natural disasters attack that I heard of,” said Fire. “Yeah, I guess I can show you.” “Not if I stop you first!” said Shadow! “Ahhhhhhhhhh!” screamed the friends as they fell into the World of Monsters.

 

Chapter 9 - “Ow,” said Super Maze as he got up from the hard ground. “This is really bad because we’re stuck in the World of Monsters,” said Ice Girl, panicking. “Hold on a second or two here. Why are there only three of you when you’re the Super Four?” I asked. “Ghost Boy was hanging out with Cyberon and then he went missing,” said Super Maze. Maze. I glared at him. “Oh yeah, Shadow Master was pretending to be Cyberon,” said Super Snap! Suddenly, a purple and green light appeared and a pig and a boy came out of the mist! “Ghost Boy! Why are you a pig?” asked Fire Boy. “You know we’re just on Spring Break and we’re still in training,” said Ghost Boy and then he turned back into ghost form. “Oh, I found another super kid!” said Super Maze. “Me, too!” screamed Ghost Boy. “You first,” said Super Maze. “Meet Sandeye’s son, Sandy,” said Ghost Boy pointing out the boy that appeared with him. “Meet Katronis,” said Super Maze. “Hey, what’s that over there? It’s glowing our color of power,” said Sandy. Then the heroes were pulled to the mysterious light! “Magical swords,” said Ice Girl blankly. Then the heroes grabbed the swords and their eyes glowed! Ice Girl’s eyes glowed blue. Fire Boy’s eyes were hot red. Ghost Boy’s were green. Sandy’s were yellow. Super Maze’s were purple. My eyes were gold. We lifted off the ground!

 

Chapter 10 - “Whoa, what did we just do?” asked Ghost Boy. “More like, where are we?” said Sandy. “I’m pretty sure that we’re in the Devious Plateau of Wind,” said Fire Boy. Roar!!! Monsters emerged from the ground and Shadow was on top of a venus fly trap monster! Then hundreds of red, mean-deviled appeared with red tridents! “I think we should use our swords so we don’t get terminated,” said Super Maze.

“Those guys are tough,” said Ice Girl. “Wha…noooooo!” we screamed as the werewolves pulled us into a haunted purple portal.

 

Chapter 11 - “Where are we?” asked Fire Boy. “You’re in haunted space,” said a voice. “That voice is from…. Haunted Man!” screamed Fire Boy. Suddenly, super webs trapped us. “I want those heroes in the Dungeon of Death, boys! Santa Claus will pay for trapping me in here for a billion centuries,” said Haunted Man. “What’s your problem with Mr. Claus?” I asked. “You haven’t heard of the movie, ‘Halloween at Christmas?’” said Super Maze. “Let me guess, it’s where Mr. Claus defeats Haunted Man,” I said. “Silence!” yelled Haunted Man. As he yelled the haunted space started to crumble! Then he teleported us heroes to the Dungeon of Death.

 

Chapter 12-  “Ouch,” said Ice Girl. “Eeeeeeeee!” “Uh, what’s that noise?” I said. “The forbidden shadow titans are here,” said Fire Boy. “I’m going to take out my power sword because they’re here!” I said. Then I hit a titan with my sword and… Bam! The titan went to the Underworld! “I have an idea,” I said. Bam! Wham! Crash! I sent all the titans to the Underworld! “Can you keep it d—…. Uh, I should be going. Bye!” said Haunted Man. “Oh no you don’t,” I said. “Ahhhhhhhh,” screamed us heroes as they went through the next portal.

 

Chapter 13 - “Ugh, why are we in a temple?” asked Fire Boy. “My master Creepy Dragon told me to make you come here,” said a skeleton named Jack Skeleton. “Roar!!! I, Creepy Dragon, will destroy you forever!” said Creepy Dragon. Zapowy! Creepy Dragon blasted us heroes, but I did an attack back and turned Creepy Dragon into a crystal. Rumble!!! “What’s that headquarters that’s emerging from the ground?” I said. “I think it’s for us,” said Ice Girl. “Let’s go find out,” said Super Maze.
